Emmy Nomination!!!

CBS.com: Congrats on the nomination!
VAN HANSIS: It's very exciting, I am thrilled.

CBS.com: This is you 3rd consecutive nomination.
VAN HANSIS: Yes, this is my third but this is my first year in supporting. The last two years I was in younger actor.

CBS.com: Does it feel different?
VAN HANSIS: It does feel a little different. It's kind of like going from JV to Varsity.

CBS.com: Where were you when you heard the news?
VAN HANSIS: I was actually doing a photo shoot for As The World Turns and I was there getting ready and I think they actually got it on camera. So my reaction is video taped somewhere. It was pretty cool.

CBS.com: Who was the first person you called?
VAN HANSIS: I actually had forgotten my phone at home that morning so I didn't have a phone and I don't know anyone's phone number off the top of my head except my parents so I called them.

CBS.com: When you got home did you have a lot of messages?
VAN HANSIS: Yes. Had to respond with a lot of text messages because it was to hard to return all the calls. It was so nice though all the wishes.

CBS.com: Did you do anything to celebrate?
VAN HANSIS: I went to the nomination party and it was nice to see all the folks from the New York soaps and to celebrate with my ATWT folks.

CBS.com: Did you give any advice to Meredith, since this is her first nomination?
VAN HANSIS: No, there really is no advice to give, just have fun. We've all done what we can do at this point, it's just whoever votes for you.

CBS.com: What scenes did you submit?
VAN HANSIS: I submitted scenes from last May or June; it was the breakup scenes with Luke and Noah.

CBS.com: What are you most looking forward to about the Emmys?
VAN HANSIS: I'm looking forward to Sesame Street getting the lifetime achievement. So I think there will be a lot of Sesame Street characters around. I think Jim Henson was a genius. It will be nice to see them!
